     MAGNIFICENT JESUS

words by Darla Day,
music by Diane Steiner

Rain on us now
King Jesus
Rescue Your children soon
Rain on us now
King Jesus
Rescue Your children soon
Twirling through Your majesty
With our fingerprints toward You
Rain on us now
King Jesus

Chorus
Abounding love
Extravagant grace
A powerful, sweet embrace
Incredible strength
Unshakable truth
A joy that is renewed
Abundant hope
Sustaining peace
That brings me to my knees
Magnificent Jesus
Magnificent Jesus
Magnificent Jesus
We love You

With our hands lifted high
Lord, You see our hungry hearts
With our hands lifted high
Lord, You see our hungry hearts
Dancing in Your holiness
With a fresh, anointed start
Rain on us, now
King Jesus

Chorus

We love You
And we worship You
And we seek You
And we find You
We exalt you, Lord and we praise Your name
Reach out for You
Fall before You
We worship You
And we praise Your name
We call out to You
And love You Lord, forever, yeah
Forever, yeah
Forever
Magnificent Jesus
We love You
We love You

I wrote this song in Sydney, Australia at the 2001 Hillsong Worship Conference. Pastor Jentezen Franklin was speaking about true worship and compared our worship to vapors sent up as offerings to bring down God's rain. We must be rainmakers! It's the only escape from our dry places. No worship--no rain! (Zechariah 14:17) Each of us lifted our hands so that God could see our individual fingerprints, to let him know that "this child of yours is worshiping you!" (Psalm 141:2) It was definitely the most powerful worship experience that I have ever been a part of and the words to this song immediately came to life after that session.
